About me

Vernon E. Cloud Jr. is a native of Forsyth County, North Carolina. He attended North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Vernon later graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law. In law school Vernon was President of the Black Law Student Association and the Voters Initiative drive while also serving as a board member for the Innocence Project. In 2004-2005 he received the Deans Award for leadership. Before going to law school Vernon worked for Bank of America as a financial analyst.

Vernon has been practicing with the law firm Cloud & Williams, PLLC since 2005. Before forming Cloud & William, PPLC Vernon clerked for the Honorable Natalia Combs-Greene in Superior Court, Washington DC. Vernon has also worked for Legal Aid of North Carolina as their Martin Luther King Jr. internship recipient. He has tried numerous criminal trials in District and Superior Court and also has substantial experience handling civil matters. Vernon has successfully tried assaults, drug cases, custody issues and alimony matters among many others.

Vernon is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and is licensed to practice law before all North Carolina state courts.
